How long does a data migration take?
It depends on the number of systems, reports and dependencies. A two-week assessment gives you a wave plan with timings. Individual waves usually run four to twelve weeks, with old and new systems in parallel until numbers match.
Will we lose historical data?
No. We migrate full history by default and reconcile counts and totals for every table. If some history is not worth moving, we agree that with you in writing and archive it in low-cost storage instead.
Which cloud platform should we choose?
It depends on your existing cloud, team skills, workloads and licences. We compare Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, Databricks and Fabric using your own queries, and give you projected running costs for each option.
Can we move in stages?
Yes, and we recommend it. We move one domain or department at a time, starting where value is high and risk is low. Each wave goes live and is signed off before the next one starts.
