CLOUD MIGRATION
Cloud migration services planned in waves you can roll back
Our cloud migration services move your applications and data to AWS, Azure or Google Cloud in small, tested waves. Each wave has a rollback plan, a cost target and your sign-off before the next one starts.
Cloud Readiness Review
- Application and dependency inventory with an approach for each workload
- Wave plan with order, rollback steps and cutover windows
- Target running cost compared with your current hosting bill
WHY IT MATTERS
Why cloud migration services stall, and how we avoid it
Migrations stall when nobody knows which systems talk to which. We map every dependency first, then agree a cloud migration strategy for each workload: rehost, replatform, refactor or retire. You see the order, the risk and the cost before anything moves.
CAPABILITIES
What a migration with us includes
Dependency mapping
We inventory servers, databases, integrations and scheduled jobs, then map what depends on what so each wave moves in the right order.
Workload-by-workload decisions
Each application gets a recorded choice, from lift and shift to full refactor or retirement, with the reasoning and expected running cost attached.
Moves to AWS
AWS migration services using native tooling and Terraform, with landing zones, account structure and guardrails ready before the first workload arrives.
Azure and Google Cloud
Azure cloud services and Google Cloud builds for teams tied to Microsoft licences, Active Directory or data already held in Google Workspace.
Data migration
Database and file moves with validation checks, row counts and reconciliation reports, so finance and operations trust the numbers from day one.
Cutover and rollback
Rehearsed cutovers in low-traffic windows, with a tested rollback path and a named engineer watching each system through its first week.
USE CASES
Migrations we are built for
Law firm leaving its server
A law firm keeps matter files and practice software on an office server. We move them to a secure cloud setup with tighter access controls.
Product outgrowing one server
Your SaaS product runs on a single virtual machine. We move it to managed databases and containers that scale with customer load.
Data centre exit
A hosting contract is ending. We sequence dozens of applications into waves and track each one against the fixed exit date.
Switching cloud providers
Credits or a licence deal make another provider cheaper. We rebuild the infrastructure in code and switch traffic over with planned, minimal downtime.
HOW WE DELIVER
Five gates. You sign each one.
Every Cloud Migration engagement runs on PRISM OS. Nothing moves to the next phase until you approve the evidence.

WHY SMARTX
Why SmartX for Cloud Migration
Dependencies mapped first
We move nothing until we know what it talks to, because hidden dependencies are where most failed migrations go wrong.
Small waves, real rollbacks
Each wave is small enough to reverse, and rollback steps are rehearsed before every cutover so nobody improvises at midnight.
Cost targets you sign
Expected monthly running cost is agreed for each workload at the Plan gate and checked again after every completed wave.
Same team runs it after
The engineers who migrate your systems can stay on through PRISM OPS, so knowledge stays with the people who built it.
TOOLS WE USE
The stack, chosen per problem
ENGAGEMENT MODELS
Choose how we work together
Every model keeps the same signed gates, fixed milestones and full code ownership.
Gated delivery pod
A senior pod owns the outcome from Problem Brief to production, priced per gate so you can stop at any signature.
Dedicated engineers
Engineers who join your team and sprints, with PRISM briefs and evidence reviews added on top of your process.
PRISM OPS retainer
Hosting, security and a monthly improvement budget, run by the same engineers who built the system.
SELECTED WORK
Evidence, not promises.
A field management SaaS product, built and evolved
Cloud, DevOps, application development and modernisation for a field management SaaS startup as its product matured.
Growing through product evolution.
Read the case study“I would consider SmartX the best bet for my startup in the field management SaaS space. They have a good understanding of product development and product evolution, and appreciable knowledge of cloud, DevOps, application development and modernisation.”
FAQ
Questions before you book
Not covered here? Ask on the call.
How long does a cloud migration take?
It depends on how many applications you run and how tangled they are. A small estate can move in a few weeks. Larger estates move in waves over several months. The Cloud Readiness Review gives you a wave plan with dates before you commit to the full move.
Will our users notice downtime?
We plan cutovers for low-traffic windows and rehearse them first. Most systems switch with a short, scheduled pause. Where even that is too much, we use replication so the old and new environments run side by side until traffic moves across.
Should we move as-is or rebuild first?
Usually a mix. Stable systems often move as they are and get tuned later. Systems that are expensive to run or hard to change may be worth replatforming during the move. We record each choice, its reasoning and its expected cost.
Which cloud should we choose?
The one that fits your workloads, licences, data residency needs and the skills your team already has. We work across AWS, Azure and Google Cloud and show you a cost and risk comparison before you decide.
Do you move databases and files too?
Yes. We move databases, file shares and object storage, then validate them with row counts, checksums and reconciliation reports. Business owners sign off that the data is complete before the old system is switched off.
