INFRASTRUCTURE AS CODE

Infrastructure as code services for repeatable environments

Our infrastructure as code services define your servers, networks, permissions and policies in reviewed code. Environments become repeatable, every change is visible and rebuilding after a failure becomes a tested, scripted step.

WHY IT MATTERS

Infrastructure as code services your team can maintain

Infrastructure built by clicking through consoles is hard to audit and harder to rebuild. We bring what exists under code, organise it into modules your engineers understand and put every change through review. Our Terraform consulting favours clear structure over clever tricks.

CAPABILITIES

What we codify

Import existing estates

We bring console-built resources under code without downtime, then remove the manual steps nobody remembered to write down.

Reusable modules

Versioned modules for networks, clusters, databases and access, so new environments follow your standards from the very first apply.

Pull-request workflows

GitOps pipelines where a merged pull request is the only route to production, with every plan reviewed before it is applied.

Guardrails in code

Policy as code rules that block public storage buckets, open ports and untagged resources before they are ever created.

Drift checks

Scheduled drift detection compares live infrastructure with code and flags manual changes, so environments stay in the state you approved.

Servers outside the cloud

Configuration management with Ansible for servers and appliances outside cloud APIs, including on-premises racks and plant systems.

USE CASES

Where code beats manual setup

USE CASE 01

Audit evidence on demand

Auditors ask how production changes are controlled. Reviewed pull requests and stored plan logs give you that evidence without extra work.

HOW WE DELIVER

Five gates. You sign each one.

Every Infrastructure as Code engagement runs on PRISM OS. Nothing moves to the next phase until you approve the evidence.

DevOps Health Check

A fixed-scope first step. You keep everything it produces, whether or not you build with us.

WHY SMARTX

Why SmartX for Infrastructure as Code

01

Readable over clever

Modules are written for the engineer who joins next year, with naming, documentation and examples your team has agreed.

02

No big-bang rewrite

We import existing resources step by step, so production keeps running while ownership moves into code.

03

Checks before every apply

Each plan is scanned for risky settings before it runs, catching misconfigurations while they are still cheap to fix.

04

Your repositories

Code, state configuration and decision records live in your accounts from day one, so you are never locked in to us.

ENGAGEMENT MODELS

Choose how we work together

Every model keeps the same signed gates, fixed milestones and full code ownership.

MOST CHOSEN

Gated delivery pod

A senior pod owns the outcome from Problem Brief to production, priced per gate so you can stop at any signature.

FOR PRODUCT TEAMS

Dedicated engineers

Engineers who join your team and sprints, with PRISM briefs and evidence reviews added on top of your process.

AFTER LAUNCH

PRISM OPS retainer

Hosting, security and a monthly improvement budget, run by the same engineers who built the system.

SELECTED WORK

Evidence, not promises.

FAQ

Questions before you book

Not covered here? Ask on the call.

Terraform, OpenTofu or Pulumi?

Terraform and OpenTofu suit most teams because the language is simple and widely known. Pulumi suits teams who prefer writing infrastructure in a general programming language. We recommend based on your team's skills and existing code, and record the decision for future engineers.

Can you bring existing infrastructure under code?

Yes. We import existing resources in small batches, confirm that the code matches what is running, then switch changes to the code path. Production keeps running throughout, and nothing is rebuilt unless you agree it should be.

How do you stop people making manual changes?

We limit console write access to break-glass roles, run scheduled drift checks and alert on any difference between code and reality. Emergency fixes are allowed, but they must be written back into code within an agreed time.

Does this help with compliance?

Yes. Reviewed pull requests, plan logs and policy checks give auditors a clear record of who changed what, when and with whose approval. Many clients use this as evidence for ISO 27001 and SOC 2 change management controls.
