Why build a copilot if we already have Microsoft 365 Copilot?
Microsoft 365 Copilot works well across Office files. A custom copilot suits you when answers depend on line-of-business systems, specialist documents, strict citation rules or workflows an off-the-shelf assistant cannot reach. Some teams run both side by side.
How do you make sure people only see what they should?
Retrieval filters run before the model sees any content, using the same permissions as your source systems. We test this with accounts at different access levels before launch and log every query for audit.
Can the copilot take actions as well as answer?
Yes, within limits you set. It can draft emails, create tickets or update records. It shows each change first and waits for the user to confirm. Sensitive actions can also require a second approver.
How long until staff can use it?
A prototype for one team is usually ready in two weeks. A production rollout with security review, single sign-on and monitoring takes four to twelve weeks, depending on the number of sources and teams involved.
